Description
The register of boats is a public book. Each interested party shall have the right, under the supervision of an authorised worker, to examine the information contained in the main ledger. Data can also be obtained by phone. A party who does not demonstrate a legitimate interest shall not be allowed to consult a collection of documents or to obtain information from the collection of documents.
The Rules on electronic access to data from the seaboat register introduces the possibility of remote electronic consultation of the data entered in the master book of the seaboat register via the World Wide Web.
Data obtained through remote electronic access do not have the character of a certificate of the status of entries in the register referred to in Article 208 of the Maritime Code. The data obtained via remote electronic access reflects the status in the register on the previous day.
