Victims killed by road user category 1991-2015
Description
This table shows for the years 1991-2015 the number of pedestrians, cyclists, mopeds, motorcyclists, 4-wheel drivers and passengers 4 wheels or 2 wheels killed as a result of a road traffic accident and is calculated annually by STATEC.
The following definitions were used:
A road traffic accident means any unexpected and sudden occurrence of one or more users on a lane normally open to traffic and causing bodily injury provided that a moving vehicle has been involved in the occurrence. For statistics on personal accidents, only personal traffic accidents reported to the Grand Ducale Police are taken into account. The data are drawn from the minutes of law enforcement officials.
The victims killed include those killed on the spot or who died as a result of the accident within 30 days.
