USAID/Mali Third Party Monitoring 2019-ARDT

ACTIVITY CONTEXT This report is the result of a third-party monitoring (TPM) of the Large-Scale Diffusion of Sorghum and Millet System Technologies (ARDT-SMS) activity funded by the Office for Agriculture and Economic Growth (AEG) of USAID/Mali. The ARDT_SMS activity was implemented by the International Research Institute for Crop Research in Tropical and Semi-Arid Zones (ICRISAT) partner in the Mopti region through two implementing agencies, Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and Aga Khan Foundation (AKF). This TPM was implemented by a team composed of a coordinator and four data monitors, including one woman. The methods included interviews with 120 agricultural producers, including 32 women producers and 53 farmer organizations leaders in the Bandiagara, Djenné and Mopti districts. 41 farmers interviewed in Bandiagara, 39 in Djenné and 40 in Mopti. This included 20 farmers' organizations in Bandiagara, 21 in Djenné and 12 in Mopti 12 or a total of 53 farmers' organizations. Djenné included 39.6 percent of surveyed farmers' organizations, 37.7 percent in Bandiagara and 22.6 percent in Mopti.
