Description
1.- It is intended to place in the strict verticality of the wreck a ship of modern technology that has the possibility of transporting and operating an ROV. This ROV must be able to descend to 1200 meters from the target, and spend several hours of daily work filming and photographing the wreck. Therefore, it must be understood that the clear purpose of this campaign lies in the documentation, archaeological ‘mapping’ and interpretation and analysis of the current state of the wreck. 2.- In addition to the above, it is intended to perform the mapping of the sinking area of the Frigate Our Lady of Las Mercedes. To this end, with the EM710 multibeam probe, a systematic bathymetric survey of the sinking area will be carried out with redundant coating overlapping 100%, with the beams closed at maximum and speed not exceeding 5 knots. In this way, a high density of probed points is achieved that will allow a high resolution mapping.
