Railway sections [BD TOPO®] - Department of the Channel
Description
**Definition of IGN**: Homogeneous part of the track for all the attributes that concern it.
**Selection**: The following railway sections are selected:
* all LGV tracks in own site,
* all main tracks (continuity of which will be ensured in marshalling yards), operated or not,
* all service lanes, operated or not, from 300 m in length,
* special branch lines, industrial or service routes from 300 m long,
* urban tracks connected by rail to the national network, such as RER, regardless of their length,
* funicular railways at least 100 metres long,
* rack trains at least 100 metres long,
* tourist lines,
* rail bikes, from 1 km long,
* overhead metro lines and tram lines,
* railways under construction.
The following are excluded:
* the railways deposited (rails removed on the ground),
* sorting and garage tracks, generalized in Nature Transport Equipment="sorting area",
* railway lines located inside amusement parks.
