Description
A marine submersion is a temporary and possibly episodic flooding of the coastal zone, generated by the neighbouring sea, with salt or brackish water, during meteorological events (storm, cyclone, strong depression and sea wind) or oceanographic events (hull, tide, tsunami) of very unusual magnitude. It begins when the highest jets of seawater from the sea margin exceed the ridge of coastal accumulations, causing a transfer of water and sometimes sediment on the land slope of the coastal cordon.
The 100m zone is the arbitrary zone of dissipation of accumulated energy that has led to the rupture of a structure.
