Foreign territorial units - ISTAT classification
Description
The dataset shows the ISTAT classification of foreign territorial units (states and territories). As of 2017, ISTAT makes available the list of foreign territorial units as of 31/12 of each year.
The R_STATUS field can have the following values: 1 = current; 2=modified; 0 = ceased. N.B.: status 2=modified refers to the
change of any field in the record except ISTAT_STATO_TERR.
The ISTAT continent code can take the following values: 1= EU Europe; 2= Europe; 3= Africa; 4= America; 5= Asia; 6= Oceania; added 9= Stateless.
The UNSD_M49 code is valued ‘n.d.’ for states for which the code is not available, as is the identification code of the state/territory issued by the Ministry of the Interior, the code assigned by the Revenue Agency to the state/territory, the ISO 3166 alpha2 code and the ISO 3166 alpha3 code.
