Underway physical, meteorological, chemical, and other data collected aboard numerous ships in the NOAA fleet in seas world-wide since February 2012

Description

This collection contains underway physical, meteorological, chemical, and other datasets logged by the Scientific Computer System (SCS) aboard ships in the NOAA fleet in seas world-wide. Office of Marine and Aviation Operations (OMAO) personnel aboard the ship submitted these data and associated metadata to the NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI). In addition, this dataset contains supplementary cruise-level metadata, which OMAO personnel logged in the Ship Daily Activity Log (SDAL). OMAO and NCEI personnel developed the automated process to archive these data under the auspices of the NOAA Rolling Deck to Repository (NOAA R2R) program, now known as the OMAO NOAA to NOAA (N2N) program. Some of the datasets in this collection were submitted by OMAO personnel to the NOAA National Oceanographic Data Center (NODC) as part of the NOAA Shipboard Sensor Data Acquisition (NSSDAC) project prior to the initiation of the NOAA R2R program.
