Outflow Elderly from the Housing Market — PBL 2018

Description

This dataset contains the results of the estimation of the outflows of older people from the housing market in four scenarios derived from the WLO-cahier ‘Regional Development and Urbanisation’ (CPB & PBL 2015). These are single people over the age of 65 who die, move to an institutional housing form or start living together, leaving a home behind. The table shows the absolute number of outflowing households for the 40 COROP regions for 2015 and the 2030 and 2050 stitch years for the four high-base and low-base scenarios and the additional High-spread and Low-concentration scenarios. The shares of the outflow are also included in the total available offer, as well as the shares of rental and purchase homes in the outflow. On the basis of the calculations for the WLO-Regional developments and urbanisation, the outflow of older households was calculated. It also shows the relative weight of this outflow in the total available supply on the housing market (in addition to regular flow and new construction). With an additional model, an estimate is made of the ratio between rental and owner-occupied dwellings in the outflow. For further explanations see Eskinasi, M. & J.
