UFP measurements Vienna Airport.
Description
Since the end of January 2022, the Federal Environment Agency has been conducting measurements of ultrafine particle concentrations (UFP) as well as of particulate matter, nitrogen oxides and sulphur dioxide in Mannswörth (substation) and Klein-Neusiedl northwest or southeast of Vienna Airport. UFP concentrations (annual average values 15.000 and 10.900 particles/cm³ respectively) are higher than in the urban background in Vienna and Graz and significantly higher than in Illmitz. The measurement results show that at both measuring points, UFP concentrations are dominated by emissions from the OMV and airport refinery. UFP concentrations show almost no association with other pollutants.
