Trends of groundwater temperature
Description
Against the background of the discussion on the effects of climate change, the data on groundwater temperatures for the period 1997 to 2009 were analysed for changes. 71 out of 128 groundwater bodies were analysed for the trend analysis. It was found that a significant temperature increase of about 0.7 °C occurred in more than half of the groundwater bodies examined. The results correlate with the development of the air temperature, which is why rising groundwater temperatures must be expected in the coming decades. It is known that even small-scale factors influence the development of groundwater temperature. However, no direct link could be identified in this work.
