Agreement drafted in French and signed [electronically/manuscriptly] on 23/04/2021 by Mr de la Directeur de l'ASTA and Ms la Directeur des ANLux._ **History of administration:** The Administration des Services Techniques de l’Agriculture (ASTA) is one of Luxembourg’s oldest administrations. The Law of 21 June 1967 establishes ASTA in its current form: it resulted from the meeting of the Agricultural Service with the Experimental Agricultural Chemistry Station. But its origins date back to the end of the 19th century. The Law of 28 February 1883 on the organisation of the agricultural service lays the foundations for the organisation of ASTA. **Principal missions:** The ASTA has, within the limits set by the laws and regulations and without prejudice to the legal and regulatory provisions laying down the powers of other State bodies, in particular for powers: - To propagate technical progress in agriculture, to guide and develop animal and plant production, to encourage productivity and to stimulate cooperation in the agricultural sector - Addressing agricultural soil, farm buildings, farm mechanization, land and rural development, rural roads, meteorology and the agricultural environment - To promote the quality of agricultural products and to carry out analyses concerning the composition and quality of agricultural products and means of production - To ensure the application of laws and regulations relating to agricultural products, means of agricultural production and the protection of plants and plant products; to monitor the application of the legislation on agricultural and trade union associations - Participate in the drafting and implementation of Community legislation. **Regulatory references:** - Law of 30 November 1976 on the reorganisation of the administration of agricultural technical services - Amended Law of 27 June 2016 on support for the sustainable development of rural areas - Law of 18 March 2008 on the marketing of seeds and seedlings and on the coexistence of genetically modified, conventional and organic crops **Versions and updates:** The following shall be published in the dataset: - The first version signed on 23/04/2021
