_Commission sorting table for savings and rationalisation based on the ArcategTM benchmark. Agreement drawn up in French and signed by hand on 02/12/2022 by the Minister of State and the Director of ANLux._ **History of administration:** The Savings and Rationalization Commission, under the aegis of the Ministry of State, was established in 1946. In particular, it aims to ‘propose the abolition of all abusive or excessive expenditure, as well as measures to rationalise the working methods of State administrations and services, with a view to limiting expenditure other than that of staff to what is strictly necessary’ and, as regards staff in the service of the State, to ‘propose all measures which it considers necessary to reduce the number of civil servants, employees, workers and other auxiliary agents in the service of the State’. **Principal missions:** The tasks of the CER shall be to: - Propose measures to block, reduce and cancel appropriations provided for in the State expenditure budget - Propose any measures it deems necessary to reduce the number of civil servants, employees, manual workers and other agents in the service of the State - Propose the elimination of any abusive or excessive expenditure - Propose measures to rationalise the working methods of State administrations and services in order to limit non-staff expenditure to what is strictly necessary. The CER is thus responsible for: - To issue opinions on requests for recruitment of staff made by the administrations - To propose measures to reduce the number of employees in the service of the State - To propose measures to rationalise working methods in State administrations - To notify all draft laws and regulations affecting the staff of State administrations and services. **Regulatory references:** - Ministerial Regulation of 25 March 1975 on the organisation and functioning of the Committee on Savings and Rationalisation - Law of 24 December 1946 on (a) payment of compensation to civil servants and employees of the State, standardization of the family supplement, (c) supplement for residents, d) full adjustment of salaries, allowances and pensions to the index number **Versions and updates:** The following shall be published in the dataset: La première version signée le 02/12/2022
