Irrigated Acreage was based on the [DWR Statewide Land Use Dataset for 2014](https://gis.water.ca.gov/app/CADWRLandUseViewer/)
DWR received several local, land use datasets from local agencies during the comment period. The local datasets were reviewed by DWR subject matter experts for accuracy. If the datasets were determined to be better, local data for the basin they were utilized instead of the statewide process. Local datasets that were utilized for component 5 are attached.

This dataset was supplied by the State Water Resource Control Board’s Division of Drinking Water (DDW) who regulate drinking water systems throughout California. The DDW database was queried for “active” public supply wells in March 2016, so it should be considered as of that date.
