Status Report Waste Incineration.
Description
The status report provides an overview of waste incineration plants in Austria. Based on data and information from operators, technical plant descriptions and environmental relevant data such as air and water emissions are presented. The status report also highlights the main new provisions in the EU document “Conclusions on Best Available Techniques with regard to Waste Incineration” from 2019. Further chapters discuss the contribution of waste incineration to circular economy and climate neutrality. Important aspects here are the recovery of raw materials, the function as a pollutant sink in the cycle, or the supply of district heating and cooling, which results in reduced CO2 emissions.
