Description
PRODCOM (Products Directory) Description: PRODCOM refers to the EU system of production statistics in the mining and tangible goods sector. The most important part of these production statistics is the underlying product classification, the so-called PRODCOM list. However, this is not printed in the Regulation, but is prepared annually by the PRODCOM Committee. The items in the PRODCOM list are defined by the Harmonised System or the Combined Nomenclature. The coding takes place via an 8-digit code, the first six digits of which are identical to the CPA codes. The PRODCOM list is therefore directly linked to the central goods classification. The versions of PRODCOM are always bound to the respective year (e.g. PRODCOM 2008 applies to the year 2008).
