DESCRIPTION: The existing air infrastructures in Extremadura are the following:- Airports. They are the ground terminals where air travel by aircraft begins and ends. The functions of airports include the landing and take-off of aircraft, embarkation and disembarkation of passengers, baggage and goods, refuelling and maintenance of aircraft, as well as parking for those not in service. The airports serve for military aviation, commercial aviation or general aviation.- Aerodromes. They are defined areas of land or water (including all buildings, facilities and equipment) intended in whole or in part for the arrival, departure or movement of aircraft. An aerodrome is normally an airport where there are no permanently based aircraft. - Flight fields. They are aerodromes dedicated to private, sports and ultralight aviation and / or with unprepared tracks, land or grass.- Heliports. They are defined as aerodromes intended to be used only by helicopters.
