DESCRIPTION: It is a classification of soils based on several parameters (and properties) that develops into levels: Order, Suborder, Large Group, Subgroup, Family, and Series. The USDA Soil Taxonomy was developed and coordinated internationally by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) for the United States Department of Agriculture and its subsidiary National Cooperative Soil Survey.
