DESCRIPTION: Altimetry (also called hipsometry) is the branch of topography that studies the set of methods and procedures for determining and representing the height or "cut" of each point with respect to a reference plane. With altimetry it is possible to represent the relief of the terrain, (planes of contours, profiles, etc.). METHODOLOGY: Obtaining altimetry from the Digital Elevation Model.
