Productive sectors. Section V of the National Atlas of Spain
Description
The human community in Spain has developed a diverse productive activity, influenced by available resources, historical demands, and technological advances. Although traditionally divided into three economic sectors, a transversal perspective based on operational traceability would be more suitable, though difficult to apply in a national atlas. Section V of the National Atlas of Spain (ANE) and the following two sections address economic activity in Spain, starting with the three traditional sectors. Agricultural and Fishing Activities focuses on the land use map and analyzes the agricultural and fishing structure and production. Mining, Energy, Industry, and Construction offers a spatial and temporal view of these sectors, highlighting their recent strengths and weaknesses. Tourism examines its impact on GDP and employment, presenting the supply and demand for tourism cartographically. Finally, Trade and Services covers domestic and foreign trade, as well as some financial and business services.
