Description
An overview of the evolution of the cartographic representation of Spain and the current state of the organizations responsible for this field are the main elements covered in Section I of the National Atlas of Spain (ANE). The section highlights the advancements that have enabled accurate representation of the territory, as well as the collaboration between different cartographic organizations. The National Cartographic System details the structure and functioning of public agencies in the production and dissemination of geographic information, the instruments and plans of official cartography, and the infrastructure for access and interoperability of geographic content. Additionally, it underscores the importance of geographic databases and the proper standardization of geographic names for data localization and exchange. From this section, it is possible to access general reference physical and political cartography of Spain, Europe, and the world at a small scale.
