Network of GNSS Permanent Stations
Description
The ERGNSS is composed of more than 120 permanent GPS/GNSS stations distributed throughout Spain (view stations). Many of them are integrated into the European EUREF network and some into the global IGS (International GNSS Service) network, as specified below. The coordinates of these stations are calculated using Bernese precision scientific software (ERGNSS Station Coordinates). Furthermore, in order to manage expenditure more efficiently and an adequate station density throughout Spain, the IGN shares ownership of some ERGNSS stations with other institutions, such as the Autonomous Communities and State Ports, through collaboration agreements. The stations are equipped with multi-frequency geodetic receivers capable of receiving the GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, and BEIDOU constellations, and geodetic antennas, almost all of them "Choke ring" type.
