Description
The 1st edition of the National Topographic Map 1:50 000 of Spain constitutes the basic cartography at 1:50,000 scale, which is obtained by direct processes of observation and measurement of the earth's surface. The MTN50 consists of 1073 sheets of 20' longitude and 10' latitude whose themes are orography, hydrography, communications, constructions, land uses, administrative boundary lines, toponymy and for the printed map exterior information such as the frame, cover and back cover, table of signs, etc. The publication of this edition began in 1875, with the printing of the sheets of Madrid (559) and Colmenar Viejo (534), and was completed in 1968 with the printing of the sheet of San Nicolás de Tolentino (1125).
