Cadastral maps of Madrid (1860-1870)
Description
Topographic planes, called Kilometric Sheets, raised in the 1860s in Madrid. Project of the General Statistical Board in 1860-70 that directs the cadastral work. First cadastral cartography in the history of Spain. In a decade, only 156 municipalities in the province of Madrid were completed. These plans are the beginning of the National topographic map. The IGN currently has 6000 of them. The sheets are without projection and no global reference system (they are flat local coordinates).
