National Topographic Base 1:100.000 of Spain
Description
BTN100 is a multipurpose geographic dataset which its main objectives are the production of derived cartography and the exploitation of the data in a Geographic Information System (GIS) through queries and analysis. It presents a geographic feature-based structure representable at the mentioned scale making use of simple geometries (points, lines and polygons) with aditional thematic information in its attribute fields. Controls are applied over each feature in order to guarantee a proper topological relationship among the different features from the dataset. BTN100 covers seven different thematic units. The updating of each geographic feature is registered in the Annex B of the BTN100 Data Product Specifications. The National Topographic Base 1:100,000 (BTN100) was collaboratively created between the two national reference organizations in terms of cartographic production: the National Geographic Institute (IGN) and the Army Geographic Centre (CEGET).
