Autonomous thematic series CV350: Seismicity and active faults map in the Valencian Community at scale 1:350.000
Description
Seismicity and active faults map in the Valencian Community at a scale of 1:350.000 belonging to the regional thematic series carried out by the Institut Cartogràfic Valencià. The map shows the spatial distribution of the earthquakes produced in the Valencian territory and its surroundings. The earthquakes has been classified as the earthquakes of the historical period (prior to 1962) and as the instrumental period (from 1962 to the present). The earthquakes of the historical period are represented by circles proportional to their intensity, while those of the instrumental period are represented by circles proportional to their magnitude. On the other hand, the map shows the location of active and potentially active faults, classifying them into three categories: main faults (with a landslide rate equal to or greater than 0.7 mm/a), secondary faults (with a landslide rate greater than 0.5 mm/a and less than 0.7 mm/a) and other failures (those that do not satisfy the above criteria). Faults are represented with different line thickness depending on the category to which they belong. Cartographic official series CV350 ellaborated by the Institut Cartogràfic Valencià has been used as a reference map. ETRS89 geodetic reference system. UTM projection zone 30
