Seismic Network of the Valencian Community (SISCOVA): Stations

Description

The Seismic Network of the Valencian Community is an active network in permanent operation that offers observations of seismic activity in the territory. SISCOVA is composed of nine seismographs, of which seven are in the Valencian Community and two in the Region of Murcia, all of them integrated into the Seismic Alert Network of the National Geographic Institute. The layer offers information on the technical characteristics of each sensor: type, model, location and graph with the signal in real time. The Seismic Network of the Valencian Community is created through the collaboration agreement signed between the Institut Cartogràfic Valencià and the University of Alicante in 2022 to expand the Seismic Record Unit of said university and cover the entire territory of the Valencian Community. This agreement is based on Law 2/2020 that establishes the obligation to project, deploy, maintain and exploit the seismic network of the Valencian Community as a basic tool of the Generalitat for the detection of seismic events that occur in Valencian territory
