VEUS 2020: Viewer of Sensitive Urban Spaces of the Valencian Community

Description

VEUS 2020 aims to identify “sensitive urban areas” through mapping, understood as urban areas where the socioeconomic, residential and sociodemographic or gender dimensions are notably lower than the average for the Valencian Community. Based on a statistical analysis based on a set of factors and variables considered key to identifying situations of disadvantage or vulnerability, the nature of the problems and their vulnerability index percentile are determined, at different scales, to which associates a color scale for graphical representation in the resulting maps. Graphic representation by Census Sections as of January 1, 2019 (INE). Specifically, VEUS2020 offers the following layers of information: 1. Residential Vulnerability (IVR), socioeconomic (IVSE) and sociodemographic (IVSD) layers result of the proposed statistical calculation model based on 4 factors (F.GINI; F. FAVANT; F.AROPE and FRMES) and 9 variables ( residential, socioeconomic and demographic) specific to each case to be evaluated. It is represented graphically according to a color scale associated with the corresponding vulnerability index percentile. 2. Typologies of urban vulnerability identified as a result of the analysis of residential, socioeconomic and sociodemographic vulnerability, which is classified as: Comprehensive Vulnerability: when in all 3 dimensions it exceeds the 66th percentile; Medium polyvulnerability: when in 2 dimensions it exceeds the 66th percentile; Low polyvulnerability: when in 1 dimension it exceeds the 66th percentile. 3. Sensitive Urban Spaces. Cartography that delimits the spaces where there is Integral Vulnerability or Medium polyvulnerability as defined in the VEUS 2020 and its VULNERABILITY INDEX > quartile 75.
