WMS Quality coastal waters Gran Canaria (MONITOOL project)
Description
The results shown are those obtained in coastal waters during the campaigns carried out in 2018 by the Instituto Tecnológico de Canarias at each of the sampling points on the island of Gran Canaria.
The service returns the information collected on metal concentrations at four coastal points through a link to a pdf document.
The main objective of the MONITOOL project is to generate a robust database of dissolved concentrations (through point sampling) and labile metals (through passive samplers) in coastal and transition waters in the participating regions to adapt the existing Environmental Quality Standards (EQS) for water bodies to the use of passive DGT-type samplers (NCADGT) in order to improve and facilitate the assessment of their chemical status under the Water Framework Directive (WFD).
