WMS Strategic Noise Maps 2007
Description
The strategic noise maps that were drawn up by the Government of the Canary Islands in 2007, give & answer to the requirements of Law 37/2003 on Noise and R.D.1513/2005, which together transpose into Spanish legislation the European Directive 2002/49/EC on the assessment and management of environmental noise. Strategic noise maps refer to the representation of ambient noise in certain formats and conditions. The layers that form the service are: sound levels and exhibition on facades of buildings on the main roads of the islands of Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Tenerife and La Palma; sound levels at airports in Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and La Palma; sound levels and exhibition in facades of the agglomeration of Santa Cruz de Tenerife — San Cristóbal de La Laguna; and finally the map layer of potential affect of night roads and the conflicts of said map with Protected Natural Areas and urban centers for the entire archipelago.
