Orthophoto. Year 2020-2021
Description
Orthophotos of 20 cm/pixel resolution. Images in REGCAN95 compressed in ECW format of extension of 2,500 by 2,500 meters. This information is accompanied by a shapefile distributor indicating the scope of the corresponding orthophotography.
An orthophoto, or orthophotography, is a geometrically corrected aerial photograph (ortorectified). Unlike an aerial image, an orthophoto can be used to make real measurements since it is an accurate representation of the earth’s surface, in which the distortions inherent in aerial images have been corrected. Orthophotos combine the detail and temporal coverage characteristics of aerial photographs and the uniform scale and geometric accuracy of the maps.
Due to the absence of photogrammetric flight of 2020, the orthophotos have had to be used, in some islands, satellite images (original resolution 50 cm/pixel) or images collected by the medium format camera of the lidar flight (original resolution 25 cm/pixel). For the elaboration of the orthophotos of Fuerteventura and Tenerife, part of photogrammetric flight GSD 20 cm/pixel and part of satellite images of 50 cm/pixel have been used. For the orthophoto of La Palma we have used images obtained from the mid-format camera of the LIDAR flight and with approximately 25 cm/pixel GSD, and satellite images at 50 cm/pixel. For La Gomera, the images used in the elaboration of the orthophoto have been obtained from the satellite at 50 cm/pixel. For the orthophotos of El Hierro and Lanzarote, images obtained from the mid-format camera of the LIDAR flight and with approximately 25 cm/pixel GSD have been used.
