The management of the mountains is the greatest guarantee for their conservation, rational use and continued persistence. Proof of this in Spain, and specifically in the Community of Castile and Leon, are the mountains ordered from the end of the SXIX or early XX to the present day. These mountains, which have a planning embodied in documents in the medium (15-20 years) and long term (100-120 years), drafted in accordance with the Instructions for the Management of Mountains in force in Castile and Leon, constitute an example of conservation of the natural heritage, durability and productivity of renewable resources such as wood, pinewood or resin.
