ZONES OF ENVIRONMENTAL SENSITIVITY FOR GLIDING BIRDS IN CASTILLA Y LEÓN
Cartographic information with areas of environmental sensitivity for rupicultural gliding birds (royal eagle, perdicera eagle, lion vulture, alimoche, febrantahues) and forest gliders (imperial eagle, royal milan, black vulture and black stork) in Castilla y León.
In order to provide initial information on the environmental sensitivity of gliding birds to the generation of renewable energy projects in the Spanish territory of León, a map has been prepared on this group of gliding birds, which seeks to serve as guidance to promoters on the areas in which they may be evaluating the suitability for the design and location of potential renewable energy projects, especially energy from wind farms.
The submission of this information does not replace the relevant environmental impact assessment procedures for projects or prejudge the results of the corresponding environmental impact statements, since they are offered only to facilitate an early assessment from the early stages of defining a potential renewable energy project on the impact of a specific group of species with high environmental sensitivity.
