Description
Web service for the visualisation of maps, in accordance with the WMS-OGC standard, which includes the topic of land occupation (item 2, Annex II of the INSPIRE Directive: LC - Land Cover).
The Land Cover theme focuses on describing the land surface through its physical and biophysical characteristics, including artificial surfaces, agricultural areas, forests, natural areas, wetlands, water bodies, etc. The land cover thus defined can result in multiple cartographies depending on the desired applications and applied technologies. Proof of this are the various initiatives that address this issue: the CORINE Land Cover programme, the LUCAS project, the SIOSE project in Spain, etc. Warning: not to be confused with the Land Use theme (Annex III, item 4), although they are closely related.
