Description
Web map visualisation service, according to the WMS-OGC standard, which covers the subject of geology (item 4, Annex II of the INSPIRE Directive: GE — Geology).
The Geology theme of INSPIRE covers all geological knowledge, whether from the point of view of the composition of terrestrial materials (description of the components of the soil and subsoil based on their chemical, mineralogical, clast or fossil composition), or from that of their structure (patterns, inhomogeneities or fractures that present these components). It should be borne in mind that all this is influenced by geological processes, affects the physical properties of materials, determines their behavior when subjected to industrial and natural processes, and controls the properties of aquifers, the morphology of the landscape and its use as a natural resource. Therefore, this theme encompasses both the solid component that forms the Earth, as well as the aquifers and geomorphology.
