In the course of the social monitoring, the city of Würzburg collects data on various topics from the fields of youth, family and social affairs. These are usually available for all districts individually, in individual cases for Würzburg as a whole. The package contains various services. The aim is to enable children and young people from low-income families to participate in various educational and leisure opportunities. Young people should integrate into society in the best possible way. As adolescents, they particularly need contact with other people, educational opportunities, cultural and leisure activities in order to develop their personality. The Youth Welfare Office can carry out this measure if the best interests of the child in their own family are endangered. In accordance with §4 of the Federal Child Protection Act (Bundeskinderschutzgesetz) in conjunction with §8a SGB VIII, in the event of suspicion of a danger to the best interests of the child arising in the course of exercising the professional activity, a notification must be made to the responsible child and youth welfare institution. Endangering the best interests of the child includes mistreatment, torture, neglect and sexual abuse of children and adolescents.
