Description
Having precise figures is essential both for political action and for the control of power by elected officials and citizens.
In a time of reform, statistics are even more at the heart of the debate and choices. Change must be able to rely on reliable data and statistics must be able to measure the effects of change.
The Statistics and Analysis Service makes available to education officials and the interested public:
Basic statistics, such as the number of pupils and teachers, diplomas and certifications awarded, changes in nationalities, the first language spoken at home by pupils, school infrastructure, the budget, etc. They are subject to annual publications (Key figures, Global statistics and analysis of school performance, Costs and financing of the Luxembourg school system, etc.)
Analyses of specific themes, on an annual or ad hoc basis, such as early school leaving, the transition of students after graduation, the rate of academic achievement, etc.
It also carries out prospective studies on the evolution of the school population and the needs of teaching staff.
