Description
The intermediate socio-geographical spaces that have been defined to improve regional territorial articulation, the so-called Functional Areas, are shown. Functional Areas are those areas of the territory that constitute areas with homogeneous behavior in their socioeconomic dynamics and in their relations with the rest of the territory affected by the Territorial Planning Guidelines of the Mula River, Vega Alta and Oriental, with common geographical and physical elements that allow a unitary planning and development.
The following areas and sub-areas are defined:
-A. Functional Area of the Mula River Basin.
-B. Functional Mountain Area: B.1.Subarea of Sierra Espuña-Sierra del Cambrón, B.2. Sub-area of Sierra de Ricote-Navela and Sierra del Oro and B.3.Sub-area of Sierra de La Pila, Quíbas, Barinas and Abanilla.
-C. Functional Area of Vega Alta del Río Segura: C.1.Subarea of Almadenes Canyon and C.2.Subarea of Ricote Valley - Cieza.
-D. Functional Area of the Rambla Salada Basin – Río Chícamo.
-E. Functional area of agricultural areas: E.1.Stepland sub-area of the Llanos del Cagitán, E.2.Northern border agricultural sub-area and E.3.Central agro-industrial sub-area
