The COGCC WELLS shapefile consists of over 100,000 oil and gas well locations within the State of Colorado. The well point data represent permitted locations, most of which have been drilled and completed, or drilled and abandoned. Some permitted locations were never drilled; these locations are also included in the shapefile. Well IDs and other header information are provided as attributes. The COGCC is the official repository for Colorado's oil and gas information. Assume imperial units where not specified. Data were originated by Chris Eisinger, COGCC, GIS Manager.
