Special Eurobarometer 117: The Europeans on Holidays

This paper presents some key preliminary results of the public opinion survey undertaken on behalf of the European Commission (Directorate-General XXIII "Enterprise policy. Distributive trades. Tourism and Co-operatives") in the framework of the 48th edition of the Eurobarometer. The survey was carried out throughout the European Union between 12 October and 16 November 1997, under the general coordination of INRA (EUROPE) - European Coordination Office in Brussels.

The results by volumes are distributed as follows:

• Volume A: Countries
• Volume AA: Groups of countries
• Volume A' (AP): Trends
• Volume AA' (AAP): Trends of groups of countries
• Volume B: EU/socio-demographics
• Volume B' (BP) : Trends of EU/ socio-demographics
• Volume C: Country/socio-demographics
