Resource consumption of industry in Austria
Description
The report provides an overview of the quantities of wood, ore, metal and mineral raw materials produced in Austria and used in industry. With the help of goods input statistics and economic scenarios, a consumption scenario for each sector will be developed by 2030. With the continuation of specific raw material inputs, the use of goods will increase significantly with economic development (e.g. natural stones from 47.7 million tonnes to 76.0 million tonnes). A separate section is dedicated to the availability and reuse of rare metals in Austria. Rare metals are critical of supply and are economically significant. While the mass metals already have relatively high recycling rates, these are still very low for economic reasons for rare metals.
