Register of agglomerations
Description
Agglomeration is an area where population and/or economic activities are sufficiently concentrated to allow urban waste water to be collected and drained to waste water treatment plants or to the end point of discharge. In the Republic of Croatia, the concept of identification of agglomerations was chosen, which implies that the area of one agglomeration is served by a single collection system and one waste water treatment plant (aglomeracija:UPOV=1:1).
The register of agglomerations contains an overview of the spatial location and the framework coverage of agglomerations. For individual agglomerations, basic data on the total agglomeration load, estimated value of planned investments and planned completion dates of works on drainage systems and urban waste water treatment plants are presented in accordance with the Multi-annual Urban Water Construction Programme 2014. — 2023.
The figures presented for agglomerations of a total load of more than 2,000 ES (population equivalent) are also contained in the national reports on the state of implementation and on the implementation programmes of the Urban Waste Water Treatment Directive (91/271/EEC) which are submitted to the European Commission as part of the regular reporting process on the progress of the implementation of the Directives.
Position data are presented in the Croatian Terrestrial Reference System 1996 Transvers Merkator projection (HTRS96/TM).
