PPR Settlement structure — system of infrastructureSpecial elevations that identify ports and airports at different levels and railway stations. They include:- MILITAR AIRPORT- MAIN AIRPORT- SECONDARY AIRPORT- COMMERCIAL PORT- COMMERCIAL PORT/TURISTIC PORT- INDUSTRIAL PORT- TURISTIC PORT- INDUSTRIAL TERMINAL- FERROVIARIA STATIONThe classification of ports was based on the indications provided by Regional Decision 35/24 of 11.08.1983 and the RAS Transport Plan approved by the Regional Executive in March 1997 and updated to September-December 2001. Industrial ports are classified as ports serving major industrial areas. Commercial ports are ports primarily intended for freight exchange and passenger transport. Commercial/tourist ports are ports destined for small trade and passenger transport to the smaller islands, always integrated with tourist port facilities. The marinas are those intended for nautical pleasure. Industrial terminals are terminals of large industries used for the unloading of raw materials and the subsequent dispatch of the processed product.
