Description
Class defining the characteristics of the road infrastructure according to administrative criteria. The class is defined by two fundamental spatial properties, one area corresponding to the aggregate of road areas, and the other linear, corresponding to the aggregate of road elements at the level of detail and the aggregate of road sections at the level of synthesis, symbolically representing the development of the route of an extended date. The route of an administrative area has characteristics of orientation, in fact generally on its route are distributed '' kilometer blocks '' that represent globally the reference system: each stone, placed in a precise position on the territory, reports the value of the kilometer (ie the progressive path of that road compared to the beginning of the same) at that point. An administrative extension therefore has a starting point and an end point, but its route may present more than one discontinuity or for situations covered by legislative regulations (for example, a provincial road in conjunction with the crossing of urban centers with a population of more than 10000 inhabitants is '' downgraded'', for the portion of crossing, to Strada Comunale and loses its characteristics as a provincial road) or for interaction with the rest of the road network: For example, a given provincial road merges into another road (state, provincial or municipal) and resumes its route at a crossroads other than the confluence. It is characterized by the administrative classification and the corresponding patrimonial value that determines the identification details (code and name of the road, for example SS36 - Strada del Sempione). It is also characterized by the functional ranking of the project. From the point of view of management, on the other hand, some roads can be managed in full or for portions by parties other than the owner (for example, the management of the SR01 regional road may have been delegated to the provinces it crosses).
