Topographical data base at 1:5,000 and 1:2,000 scales of the entire regional territory.
The creation of the regional topographical database follows precise indications defined by the Region State-Local Authorities on Territorial Information Systems, with particular reference to the Specifications for the Production of Geographical Data Bases of general interest.
The topographical database represents an evolution of the regional technical map in the logic of a real relational database, which can be updated over time.
The transition from traditional technical paper to topographic database involves:
— greater importance to polygonal geometries than linear or punctual geometries; example: Traffic elements such as vehicle circulation areas and pedestrian traffic areas;
— 3D representation of territorial areal objects, represented with the surface extension (polygon) and the contour or Ring 3D;
— geometric components returned as lines are segmented based on attributes at times.
