Water bodies on which to set up and manage priority buffer strips in accordance with PdGPo 2022-2027 and related basins identified and used by Arpa Piemonte for the analysis of the Pressions
Description
The realisation of vegetated buffer strips is aimed, among other things, at mitigating the impacts of widespread origin on surface water bodies. The buffer strips are to be carried out as a priority along the shores of water bodies that do not meet the ecological or chemical quality objectives, according to Directive 2000/60/EC, to mitigate the impacts related to agricultural activities. Some water bodies have hydromorphological problems. The data of this dataset refer to the Piedmontese water bodies identified under the Management Plan of the River Po River Hydrographic District (PdG Po 2022-2027).On 22 December 2021, the third PdG Po 2021 planning cycle was published on the District Authority’s institutional website (adopted with resolution of the Permanent Institutional Conference No 4/2021 of 20 December 2021).For programming 2022-2027 in Piedmont there are 106 surface water bodies (i.e. sections of water courses, sometimes belonging to the same river) for which the priority implementation of buffer strips in Piedmont is envisaged.
