PPR — Landscapes (tav. P3-P6)
Description
The figure, range, divides the Piedmontese territory into 76 landscape areas, which constitute integrated complexes of local landscapes different due to their landscape characteristics; they are distinguished in cartography with delimitation lines not necessarily referring to administrative boundaries, with the exclusive function of indicating the territories in which the elements characterising each area are found. The boundaries of the Landscape Areas derive from the structural framework of Piedmont, from which excerpts of territory emerge which, according to the effects of the landscape relations, are structured together, depending on a geomorphological matrix, as is the case in the mountains, or on a dominant historical structure of the rural settlement (as is recorded on the hill and in part of the plain) or urban (as happens along the foothills and foothills).
