Criticality from heat islands in urban areas
Description
The resource contains the results of a study conducted on 71 Piedmontese municipalities relating to the distribution of criticality from heat islands in urban areas. The analysis is based on the combination of data from the processing of satellite images (Landsat 8-9) and data on the spatial distribution of the population (source ISTAT census 2011).The discharge dataset consists of three rasters:1) Raster LST (Land Surface Temperature);2) NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index), a vegetation index able to highlight the presence of vegetation3) Vulnerability of urban centers to heat islands.For better consultation, two maps in pdf format are also available for download for each municipality covered by the study.
