IGM Points — Refining Network
Description
The map service allows the visualisation of the “IGM.95 Points” belonging to the geodesic network. It consists of cornerstones of national interest (mountains) on average one point every 16 km and refining points detected at a regional level with high density (about one summit every 36 sq km), which are used for positioning in the survey (GPS). The map shows the points detected since 2003 that have been added to those detected by the IGM (about 80) from 1985: • red: detected by the Lombardy region under the supervision of the Polytechnic of Milan and IGM of Florence; • green: detected by the province of Milan; • yellow: detected as part of the Interreg IT/CH project “Helidem”.It is possible to interrogate each point with the identified tool made available by the viewer that shows for each point the relative monograph accompanied by photos and/or excerpts elevations and elevations.
