Valtellina Flood Storymap 1987
Description
In July 1987 Valtellina and the surrounding areas were the scene of an alluvial event among the most dramatic that the history of this area remembers. The final budget was 53 deaths and over EUR 1 billion in damage. The storymap is organised into five sections: the beginning — the second phase — the landslide — the lake — the cartography. The first four report, with photos and text, the salient facts of what happened in those days. In the Cartography section you will see the images of the event compared with the current situation of the territory taken from the satellite.
